The title of this book may seem a bit misleading; "Introduction to Flight" sounds like a fairy narrow focused book, but don't be mislead. This book has a chapter on practically EVERY field of Aerospace Engineering that you could imagine. From aeronautical concepts like stability and control and aerodynamics, to astronautical concepts like orbital mechanics and entry, descent, and landing, to cross-disciplinary ideas like structures, this book covers it all. There is even an eye-opening introduction that overviews the history of aerospace engineering, from Samuel Langley and the Wright brothers to Wernher von Braun and the Apollo program.
Not only does this book include a bit about several concepts, but it goes into pretty good detail in each one. The writing is clean, clear, and rarely dull. There are several examples problems scattered throughout each chapter, and work problems at the end. These problems address real issues that engineers have to face. The references throughout the book will guide you to sources for more information if anything in particular catches your eye.
I think this book is most useful as, like the title suggests, an introduction. It will put you well on your way to picking a specialty within aerospace engineering, and is still a good reference to the fundamental concepts in every field. This book is a must-have for the new and budding aerospace engineer.

Dr John D. Anderson, JR has transferred a great knowledge to the world. I've found his books interesting, well structured and explained.
It is highly recommended to both aerospace students and professional engineers.

Great writer, text covers every detail. What more can I say?

John D Anderson is a great writer, three of my Aerospace Engineering classes have used his text books and I've very done well in all of them. I could learn the material without lecture using these books. Best text books I've ever read.
