This is a take-no-prisoners biology textbook -- it has all the seriously difficult content you would expect for a college text but luckily has photos, charts and tables to help students grasp the information.

Great Beginner Bio Book

I've had several biology books and this one is pretty straight forward and not too difficult to read. My course had the newer version listed but this one serves just perfect for about 1/10 of the price
